New Policies

Cell Phones/Smart Watches-

Our district believes that cell phone usage is a significant distraction at school and has been shown to have adverse effects on adolescent development. As learning is our top priority, our district will be restricting cell phone and smart watch use as outlined in the Governor's Order. Molalla River School District is beginning this policy at the start of the school year. Students can use their phones before the first bell and after the last bell. This policy is similar to last year's rule for the middle school; however, the Governor's Order also restricts phone use during the passing period as well as lunches. For more information, visit our district website and FAQ on this matter located here.

Backpacks-

Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks to class this year, and they must be stored in their lockers.

Parent Pick-Up/Drop-Off

The construction of the new middle school will require your help if you plan on picking up or dropping off your student. Please see this diagram for visual instructions. Essentially, West Lane will be converted into a two-lane, one-way street that will dump out on Leroy. In the afternoon, parents will need to come from Hezzie and turn onto West Lane, getting into the closest lane by the school. School personnel will require cars to stop where students can then load into the car. The other one-way lane on West allows parents to go around the estopped traffic and head to Leroy. The morning drop-off on the south side provides for curbside drop-off; however, you will need to turn onto West Lane to exit on Leroy. If you are dropping off out front of the school in the morning, to avoid buses, please drop off before the start of the yellow curb; there will be a tri-fold stop sign to remind you on the sidewalk.
